The KBOG Student & Community Training and Broadcasting Communications Program will introduce the world of radio communications to our community members in the hopes of fostering personal growth, learning and citizenship. Students and community members will learn everything from the history & law of community radio to hands-on production and broadcast skills. They’ll learn how to operate the Emergency Alert System (especially as we are in tsunami & earthquake zones), DJ, research, interview, and will be encouraged to delve deep into issues that are important to them, produce their own shows and share their voices with the community and the world. Their shows & podcasts will be broadcast on KBOG 97.9, and can reach a global audience through online streaming.
